Deciding to sleep until the next day to gain access to some augury spells, the group spent the night in the room with the broken chests. In the morning Varakka produced some goodberries for them once again. Glenn asked his god if answering 9 was a good idea and received three no answers. When asked if answering 10 was a good idea, the god said yes three times and no once. Gifflar buffed up and stayed alone in the room, answering 10. This caused a new door to open and the group went through it.
They came to a stone door and went through it, entering a huge room lit by green flames. In the middle of the room stood a pyramid with a stone chest on top. Gifflar went up to open the chest and found it empty except for a letter. The group read the letter and discovered that Zorlac had given the treasure to the poor. Skandalf cast a spell to find hidden doors and they discovered a secret door at the bottom of the chest. Under the hidden door was a ladder leading down to another chamber.
Inside the chamber, the group found 20000 silver pieces, 50 rubies, and 10 magic scrolls. In the previous room, there were stairs leading up to the streets of Vornheim. Gertrude turned invisible and took the rubies and scrolls back to the Halls of the 10 Spears.
